For the past seven years Yola has had a diverse involvement with innovation. This has included projects such as the development of Unitec’s Centre for Innovation & Entrepreneurship to assist entrepreneurs grow their businesses and, Executive Director for Onehunga High Business School, which was developed specifically for students to understand and practice business. More recently, Enterprise Waitakere contracted her to promote and develop innovation infrastructure to support small to medium sized enterprises grow their business through innovation with spectacular results.
In 2004, Yola was awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship to study innovation in the United States, UK and Singapore, an international best practice study. The Churchill Fellowship has developed her skills in building infrastructure and intervention strategies to support small to medium sized enterprises and economic development for innovation.
Yola’s academic background is a post graduate diploma in marketing, MBA, and now an M. Phil building up her knowledge on innovation systems.

Jo acquired a double degree from Otago University, the work-hard, play-hard landmark but well acknowledged university of New Zealand. After completing her degrees Jo moved to London working in the arena of investment banking for 2 years. She continued her work in New York as a Financial Advisor for UBS PaineWebber. In the wake of 911 Jo moved back to NZ, to a contract role in marketing management, and finally as Project Manager for special strategic projects for Enterprise Waitakere.
Having worked in various industries and experiencing some unique opportunities, Jo formed a business relationship with Yola to create the synergistic partnership, now known as YoJo Ltd.
